Drama review: Rich Man Poor Woman

This is the second dorama I watched and it's probably the best! The main reason I watched this was because of Oguri Shun was the main lead, but this drama turned out to be more than my expectation. His character was alike with Mark Zuckerberg, a genius in programming too bad he has a bad temper. Ishihara Satomi as Natsui Makoto portrayed his lover who has a bad luck in applying job offer. It only has 11 episode but I thought it really portrayed the whole story. The most obvious difference between dorama and kdrama are the storyline and number of episodes. Usually dorama has 9-12 episodes while kdrama has 16-20 episodes. Dorama has a fast storyline, only having the main character stories dominant and a little bit side story. As for kdrama, they tend to have more side stories so in some cases, you can get bored because of this. I think Oguri Shun really suits acting as Hyuga Toru. His way of gazing, talking, intimidating, etc are just perfect. Ishihara Satomi also balanced his acting really well. Based on what I searched on google, some people thought she wouldnt be able to act along with Oguri-san but it turned out to be wrong. She can be considered as not-that-popular actress but her style is fresh and you can feel that nice feeling when you see her. I ship this couple since the first time I watched this, and now Im waiting for the SP which will be aired on April 1 2013. This is super super recommended!

Synopsis:
Oguri Shun plays Hyuga Toru, an affluent man whose personality is on the contrary, speckled with flaws. A CEO of an IT firm who is published on Forbes as a billionaire, Toru attained his fortune through chance and pure luck. A woman who meets Toru and eventually becomes attracted to him is Sawaki Chihiro, played by Ishihara Satomi. Chihiro is a hardworking college student at Tokyo University who has prepared for her future as much as she possibly could through studies and obtaining licenses. Despite her efforts, she has yet to land a job. Upon meeting Toru, she begins to unravel a genuine pureness inside him and solitude resulting from such pureness, which eventually draws her closer to him. The two repeatedly conflict each other, but little by little learn about one another to grow and develop together.

Despite the worldwide recession and financial difficulties, there are people like Mark Zuckerberg who began work from merely an apartment room or a garage that end up growing to be companies generating over ten billion dollars revenues after merely 10 years or so, embracing their new found wealth by living the dream life. Whether it's a game or application software, Ecommerce, or other IT related firm, there are more than a few who rose in fame to such status in recent years. On the other hand, Japan's unemployment rate for new grads dropped to a record low and those who want to work are unable to, or their wishes to work at their company of choice is not granted.

A Cinderella story of the real world. Will the two be able to compromise their values and lifestyles to become a happy couple?

SCOLYMPIC 2013

Hai hai! Today Im just relaxing all the day at my room because of DOMS everywhere T^T Yesterday I joined SCOLYMPIC hold by CIMSA UGM. It's kind of olympic for each division in CIMSA and every batch can join. We had lots of games and thanks Buddha this year SCOPE is one of the winner! *throw confetti* Why did I say we are "one of the winner"? Because we have 3 winners this year: SCORA, SCOPE, and SCORP with the same score. I didnt think it'll be this fun at first since we started at almost 8am and then it rained after we finished the first game. Kak Ayu (LEO CIMSA UGM) said it was a significant change for SCOPE because last year we only won a game and the rest was just so-so. I indeed enjoyed every moment and the effect has just appeared today: I cant even bent down and feel the pain everytime I wake up from my bed.

SCOPEople SCOPEople HUH SCOPEople SCOPEople HAH!

March 14, 2013

it's almost 3 weeks already...

Yes, Im almost at the end of week3 accompany by a perfect closing with anatomy last pratical session for this block. Im pretty much enjoy this block, maybe because of the topic or I changed my studying style a bit. Medical student doesnt mean I always study with thick books but I enjoy watching dramas, variety shows, films as well. Nothing much changed my habit like I always did: watching dramas all the time when I've a break. Last week I watched Oguri Shun's dorama Rich Man Poor Woman which turned out to be THAT good. I only watched 2 doramas so far: the first one is hana kimi and this is the second one. My main reason to watch it is of course because Oguri is the main lead, but I didnt expect Ishihara Satomi could make a perfect couple with him. Now I continue again with The Winter That Wind Blows which is really good. Maybe you can say it as the best drama in the first half of 2013. This remarked both Song Hye Kyo and Jo Ins Sung's comeback drama so everybody really anticipated it. The story itself has ever been adapted to film before, Love Me Not, starring Moon Geun Young and Kim Joo Hyuk. My expectation is really high towards this drama since its genre is melodrama and the last time I found a good melodrama was Nice Guy. I should review Rich Man Poor Woman next time and The Winter That Wind Blows as soon as it ends.

March.

The first post in this month. Im on my second week now, pretty good so far. I think Im starting to change my study habit and it becomes vice versa with what I did before. Lots of things will happen this month and can be said as my busiest month since I entered university life. SCOPE WWPC joint project around march-april, Kamadhis' LPD on 23-24 march, ALOHA 2013 on 16 april. I enjoy participating those events, since I got no experience in organisation during my high school days. Let's pray for everything can succeed. Fighting!
